Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® Launches Game-Changing Digital Tool, SystemSelect™

DALLAS – (June 3, 2020) – Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® (OBE), a leading global supplier of architectural glass, metal and hardware, announced today it has launched its new fenestration selection tool, SystemSelectTM, for architecture, design and construction professionals.

SystemSelectTM allows users the unprecedented ability to compare thermal and visual performance for entire architectural glass and metal systems based on selected configurations. It allows users to understand thermal performance criteria early in the design phase of projects. The tool can be accessed through the OBE website at www.obe.com or directly at systemselect.obe.com.

SystemSelectTM builds on the company’s successful GlasSelect® tool that has been widely used by the industry for over a decade to make glass product selections.

“We’re particularly excited about SystemSelectTM because it allows users to assemble a glass product, the way GlasSelect® did, but now, they can also add the framing and look at thermal performance criteria for the entire system,” said Richard Braunstein, vice president of research & development at OBE.

The tool is cloud-based, so no proprietary system downloads are required. Its user-friendly design can be easily navigated so no training or lengthy instructions are needed providing quick results when designers need them most, early in the design process. It also allows users to download guide specifications for their selections and save their products and systems to easily compare them or adapt them for other projects.

SystemSelectTM is another resource the company is providing for contractors, architects and specifiers to use in their project design and development process to help meet today’s building challenges. It helps them ensure the products and systems they’re selecting will meet their performance criteria with respect to U-Factor, solar heat gain coefficient, light transmittance and much more.

“Given the ever-increasing need to adapt fenestration systems to the climate they’re being used in with a clear understanding of the system’s performance, this will be a great resource to support our customers in the design process,” Braunstein added.

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope continues to focus on collaborations to not only deliver products, but to provide solutions to challenges and help their customers bring visionary ideas to life.
