Oldcastle Glass® Selected to Supply Curtain Wall at the Dallas Cowboys Football Stadium

Santa Monica, CA – February 14, 2007 – Oldcastle Glass® announced that it was selected to provide 325,000 square feet of Unitized Glass Curtain Wall at the new, high-profile, $1 billion Dallas Cowboys football stadium. And true to the adage, ‘that everything is bigger in Texas,’ the 2.3 million square foot stadium will be the largest in the world.

Designed to enhance the Cowboy’s brand, the new Dallas stadium embodies modern progressive architecture. And considered one of the most visually arresting architectural features of the new stadium, the angled, exterior unitized glass curtain wall will be a striking 86 feet tall.

Oldcastle Glass®‘s facility, located in Dallas, Texas will design, glaze and custom-manufacture the massive curtain wall in unitized sections ready for jobsite installation. “The process of unitizing the curtain wall is state-of-the-art and reduces costly construction delays,” noted Larry Long, General Manager of Oldcastle Glass® Engineered Products Dallas. Additionally, Oldcastle Glass® will custom design and manufacture the world’s largest, retractable all-glass doors measuring an amazing 120 feet high by 180 feet wide.

The stadium is designed by HKS Inc., one of the top five architectural and engineering firms in the United States and one of the world’s pre-eminent sports venue designers. “Dallas Stadium will be a stunning showcase for Oldcastle Glass®‘s products and capabilities. We are excited to be a part of America’s most innovative and technologically advanced football stadium,” said Ted Hathaway, CEO, Oldcastle Glass®.
