Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® Presents the Next Evolution in Sunshades
DALLAS – (June 4, 2021) – Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® (OBE), a leading global supplier of architectural glass, metal and hardware, announced today the full release of its newest system, the Solar Eclipse™ Single Blade sunshade, that joins its solar control portfolio. The evolutionary product can be applied vertically and horizontally, increasing the performance and design aesthetics of the building facade.
“We have been continuously working to better understand our customers’ needs when it comes to sun controls,” said Pat Boucher, regional sales manager at OBE. “For architects, compromising design for performance is not desirable and for our glazing contractors, ease of installation is key. We’ve made key enhancements to suit both.”
Every aspect of the Solar Eclipse™ Single Blade and the Solar Eclipse™ Outrigger sunshades are engineered to ensure added ease and efficiency to a project’s design. The Solar Eclipse™ Single Blade sunshade is an adjustable single airfoil configuration with available projections at 11”, 13”, 14”, 15”, and 17” from the face of glass, based on zero-degree rotation and no pre-set angle, allowing angles to be set on-site as needed. “We believe the beauty of our sunshades is in the details, which is why we have made them even easier to install and available in a large selection of colors as well as anodized finishes to match a designer’s creativity,” added Boucher.
Both products offer nearly infinite angle options, enhanced anchors to make installation quick and simple, and pair perfectly with OBE’s popular storefront and curtain wall products, including Reliance™ systems. Solar Eclipse™ enhances a building’s ability to allow valuable daylight indoors while reducing solar heat gain for maximum occupant comfort. The systems are also eligible for LEED® credits in multiple areas.
