Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope^® Earns 2017 “Best in Show” Booth Award at AIA Convention

For first time in convention history, a company wins back-to-back honors

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope^® was selected as “Best in Show” winner of the 2017 American Institute of Architects Convention and Design Exposition (A’17) Best Booth Awards for its nontraditional booth design. The A’17 convention featured approximately 680 exhibitors demonstrating the latest innovations that help architects and designers work smarter. Unlike other conventions, the A’17 “Best in Show” award was judged by attendees, and this year, approximately 16,000 people participated in the event.

For an unprecedented second year in a row, Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope^® won “Best in Show” based on an unconventional “Green Room” concept, where attendees flocked to experience trade show relief. Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope^®‘s concept invited busy A’17 attendees to take a moment for themselves to recharge. With no products, collateral or materials in the booth, attendees were invited to mingle with colleagues, charge their smartphones, enjoy refreshments, and express their creativity by contributing in a Sketch Wall.

This year’s Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope^® booth was designed by Rockwell Group, an internationally renowned, New York interior design firm well known for its restaurant and hotel interiors. The booth stood out on the A’17 exhibitor floor due to its large circular design and stunningly beautiful lighting. The sophisticated yet comfortable space featured both stadium and relaxed seating options as well as refreshment service. The booth’s Sketch Wall highlighted more than 400 drawings that visitors created on recycled coasters, adding to their engaging, refreshing experience.
